The EMA Husbandry Committee seeks to provide the EMA membership with up to date husbandry information. We focus on the husbandry needs of newborns calves to geriatric adults and everything in between. We hope to encourage an open forum where members can share information regarding elephant husbandry and the most common practices when it comes to caring for elephants.
Our main focus at the moment is to complete our husbandry project by creating a reference guide for “everything husbandry”.
For example we might have a section called “Elephant Baths” and there will information on the different kinds of soaps facilities use and where to purchase it; or what kinds of tools are best when scrubbing an elephant. This project will become a resource for EMA members on all aspects of husbandry in the member only section.
So, if you want to be apart of an exciting new project, we need members! The husbandry committee is expanding to encompass more husbandry issues under one banner. We are looking for members with a fresh perspective, opinions and ideas to share information regarding all aspects of husbandry and medical care.
